to do on Moreton Island
For more adventurous soles amongst us there is a plethora of activities
to partake in at the Tangalooma Wild Dolphin Resort. Experience
the thrill of a high speed ride on the OceanXplorers’s high
tech rigid inflatable boat. Go quad biking around the island, sand
toboggan down the world’s tallest stabilised sand dune at
Mt Tempest. Learn to scuba dive with the resort’s 5 day open
water dive course. Go for kayak tour or hire a catamaran. There’s
tennis, Beach Volleyball, Parasailing, Jet Ski tours, fishing expeditions
the list seems endless, in fact the Tangalooma Wild Dolphin Resort
boasts a list of 75 things to do!
For the little ones the resort’s Eco Kids program is the go
incorporating such activities as Sea Marine Beach Walks, Dolphin
Education centre, Environmental Activities like Marine Mask Making
plus many more fun, exhausting activities guaranteed to tire them
out. There is of course the all important kids disco every night
after the Dolphin Feeding.
Visit the surf beach, 40 kms of pristine white sand with no footprints
except your own. Go beach fishing for something to throw on the
barbeque. Be very careful if you decide to surf or swim as its open
beach and there are no life guards or life savers around. It’s
much nicer and a lot safer to swim on the calm side of Moreton Island.
Oh yes and for those who like to take life a little easier, your
strategy will include relaxing and de-stressing, either lying on
the beach or under the shade of a palm tree, followed by a swim
in the beautiful clear water. Head over to the resort café
for a skinny cap or ice cream, stroll back to the house for lunch
and a midday cat nap. Wake refreshed and ready for your appointment
at the Massage and Pamper hut or glass of wine on the deck of the
house as you watch the sun set over the bay. Wander back down to
the resort to watch the Dolphins come in for there nightly fresh
fish feed. All that activity is making you hungry so a bite to eat,
Coconut Prawns or a juicy steak maybe, in the Chef’s Restaurant
right on the beach seems very right about now, hmmm.
